Hi All Islington Leaseholders
We have just been informed that there will be an Islington Council Audit Committee Meeting on Monday 28 June 2010, at 7.30pm in Committee room 5, at the Town Hall , Upper Street.
It should be very a very interesting meeting.
14/7/10 You can download the agenda and docs relating to the meeting.
You can see some of the reported response to this meeting here
Listed Building Owner Info Request
Islington Council has to give consent for Alterations, Extension or Demolition of a Listed Building under the Planning Act 1990 .
You may need evidence of these consents from the council if you ever sell your property, and of course it is a criminal offence to carry out works to a listed building without prior Listed Building Consent – even if you did not know that the building was listed.
Has any Islington Leaseholder with a listed building received copies of a Listed Building consent certificate from Islington Planning department via HFI or Partners or any of their sub-contractors for any work they have carried out?
Has any Islington Leaseholder with a property in a Conservation Area been consulted in advance or received a letter from Islington Planning department via HFI or Partners or any of their sub-contractors approving any major works they have had done by HFI or Partners?
Please let us know.
Chris Briere-Edney, an ILA member suggests a response to the “Notices of Proposal to enter into a long term agreement ” letter from HFI.
The deadline to respond is the 9 July.
Whose your Landlord?
Dr Potter writes to Tribune on why HFI is not our Landlord and why they should stop suggesting they are.
on Monday 14 June 2010, TONIGHT!
at Highbury House, Highbury Corner
time 6.30pm Sharp.
Highbury House, Highbury Corner, is opposite Highbury swimming baths.
All our members who’ve received their final Major Works or other bills might wish to ask to see a copy of the contract (with any variations) plus a copy of the final bill(s) relating to their contract.
We’d remind members that the question is of ‘how much’, not ‘why’ (why is a question is for Councillors/Officers). Also, that they can inspect and make copies of the accounts and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating to them. (A charge may be made for excessive copies.) There may well be members who might find it of great use to examine deeds as they often contain covenants and other useful detail.
